I'd like to share with you some samples of my work so you can see the variety of poems that I can write. I hope you enjoy reading them. Some of the poems I have written for my own family and friends, some I have written for people I don't know (following the question guidelines), and some I have written just for the sake of capturing a wonderful vision, thought or feeling at the time.
You can get help with your flowers, catering and speeches.
Why not get some help with a personalized poem - as a speech, or card, vows or wedding invitations.
Poetry has been written for many years to express love, commitment and joy.
I can help you express your thoughts in verse and create a beautiful lasting memory.
Voice of Love
I wrote this next poem and recited it at my daughter's wedding in Thornbury U.K. She had been living overseas and we had to rely on the phone and emails for news.
I've always found it's a lot easier to read a poem than give a speech. I must admit I had trouble holding back the tears towards the end of the poem. Luckily I'd printed some extra copies- so many people wanted to take home that memory of a beautiful wedding day.
The next poem was requested by a Father of the Bride. The guests got a pleasant surprise
when he broke into verse .
The poem included a little humor and lots of sentimentality, with a constant reference to
sailing ( the family passion). Thanks Derek for allowing us to publish the poem on the Web.

My darling daughter Rachel, I see you smiling there,
You look so truly beautiful with flowers in your hair.
I see you all grown up today in your dress of white,
I see you quietly confident and everything's just right.
Beside you, strong and comfortable, is the man you chose for life,
And congratulations Peter, you've picked a treasure for a wife.
You met and sailed the oceans about three years ago,
In that time love has blossomed, I've watched your friendship grow.
You take the boat out further than you ever thought you'd go,
You take on all the challenges that life can sometimes throw.
Peter, my new son-in-law, Rachel Joy, my daughter,
I'm glad you're standing here today in slightly safer water.
Your humor and your zest for life will get you through for sure,
You even laugh at all my jokes you've heard ten times before.
As a couple you will make it, you do so much together,
You'll sail through life and naturally survive the stormy weather.
My darling daughter Rachel, Love shines on you today,
You're now a married woman, so I'll be on my way.
We see you bright and happy with Pete your choice for life,
We congratulate you both today as husband and as wife.

When she rang and told me this is the one,
I could tell by her voice it was true.
On the phone you have to know by the voice,
Not the eyes, not the touch,
But the voice that told me she had found love,
Made me smile just a little bit too.
Sally Louise, with her joyful grace,
with her lanky limbs and her sunny face,
Told me she met a special man
who cares for her, who laughs with her,
who belonged from the start,
who captured her love
and won her heart.
Matthew John,
I liked you right from the word go,
when she told me I just had to know
that love had come her way.
A sunrise to share makes a happier day,
A delicious dessert tastes much better with two,
And the Somerset skies can be always blue.
I smiled at this thought of her joy,
And her English boy.
And her voice so honest and light
Told me this man is just right for her,
To grow together and share together,
To kindle the flame where the spark has begun.
To marry and take on the next stage in life,
Two families, now one,
A precious daughter and a wonderful son.
